The clone is sometimes referred to as “tiny hand grenades” for the enormous punch it packs. Our Dijon 115 is no exception. It is a big, full bodied, bold and as juicy as can be.
"It's like drinking satin". The Wadenswil Clone comes from a Swiss town with similar temperatures and rainfall to that of the McMinnville Foothills. Year in, year out this wine is the "prettiest" of the bunch. It lends an effortless bouquet of floral and red fruits with smooth, well-integrated tannins and a silky mix of cherries, strawberries, cola and vanilla.
The clone is sometimes referred to as “tiny hand grenades” for the enormous punch it packs. Our Dijon 115 is no exception. It is a big, full bodied, bold and as juicy as can be. This vintage's version brings some ellegance and refinement back that can be lost in hotter years with a more fruit forward approach. The seamlessly integrated 2016 Dijon 115 Pinot Noir is a wine that at this stage, looks as though it will probably age a few years longer than some of its predecessors.
The most 'French' of all the single-clones. An earthy blend of sweet black fruits, leather and tobacco. This wine can be shy and more reserved in cooler vintages, but the hot 2016 vintage has lured this Pommard out early into an expressive young wine with beautifully fine-grained and integrated tannins.
The Founders’ Selection is only made in the best of years and in limited quantities. Laurent Montalieu is looking for depth, balance, and complexity; leading him to make only four barrels from the 2015 vintage.
